2012 J. Bookwalter- Sagemoor Vineyards, Cabernet Sauvignon

$40.00

In 2012, Sagemoor vineyard manager, Derek Way harvested Cabernet from Dionysus, Merlot from Weinbau and Petit Verdot from Dionysus to make a field blend. The winemaking was performed by John Bookwalter. The resulting blend was 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot. Alcohol 14.8%. The J. Bookwalter Field Blend is a savory red with aromas of smoky meat, coffee grounds, and a balanced, unctuous mouthfeel. It wants food, but the tannins are richly soft and won’t punish you with a dry pucker if you are drinking before dinner. This is a bottle you’ll miss once it’s empty.
